And I'm wondering if those different parts of us shift from the background to the foreground and vice versa as we age and go through different phases of life...lovely to think about. Thanks for reading!
I think so. I've wanted to be a teacher and a mom and a writer ever since I was 4. And while I am all those things, I feel like every day (or sometimes every hour!) I have to pick which one to focus on.
Great post! I’ve often daydreamed about having a career in writing and publishing but I suspect the reality is that it’s a hard slog, just like every other job. My love of books and reading has remained pure because I’ve never had to rely on it to pay the mortgage.

I think that is such a good point and the same is true for me. I love books, reading and writing because it is something I do entirely for myself.
